Bloglines and RSS feeds

Help, I'm drowning under passwords and today I created another account for myself! Will I remember all this? I can see the advantage of RSS feeds for people who read lots of news/info from lots of sources online. What I don't quite understand is the millions of sites and blogs full of what seems like useless info and inane comments passed between complete strangers. Oh well, can you tell I'm a fulltime working mom with no discretionary time to hang out online forever?

But I did learn more about what RSS feeds means and why KCLS would make this service available to send updated news to the public.

Exploring mashups

So once again I learned something new in part 2 of the Flickr assignment. I don't know when I'll actually use this for anything but it was fun to play with http://www.krazydad.com/colrpickr/. This is the Flickr Color Pickr. It allows you to select flickr photos by color, using a very detailed "color wheel". I guess I don't have to worry about its usefulness since event he creator admits it is just meant to be a fun toy. so you can sit and click and admire pretty pictures.

Federal Way Regional Library window

What a surprise! I'm fiddling around in Flickr looking for an interesting photo to use for my Learning 2.0 assignment and by searching the tags I found my very own library. This window is located between the public lobby and the staff workroom. I never thought of it as artistic until I saw this photo by ramparts54.
